Retro Bowl was created by New Star Games and was released in January of 2020. Recently, the game has seen a huge spike in popularity.
Retro Bowl features teams from all 32 cities that host an NFL team. However, they do not feature the same rosters. Players are allowed to choose which franchise that they want to ”coach”, and attempt to build a Retro Bowl-caliber winning team. Players of the game can trade players from their roster, sign free agents, and pick players through the draft to shape their rosters into a winning team.
The game is a touch game and the player controls the quarterback of their team by either tapping on the running back they wish to give the ball to, or by aiming the passing arch with their finger and releasing to throw to the receiver that they wish to throw to. Players have their own individual attributes, such as catching, strength, speed, and stamina for receivers and running backs. Quarterbacks have the individual attributes of throw accuracy, arm strength, speed, and stamina. With more XP points that each player receives, the more that they are able to upgrade those attributes.
The game has received critical acclaim by players, and is currently rated a 4.8 out of 5 stars on the App Store by people that have played it.
