The Continued College Success of the 2020 USA Women’s Gymnastics Team

It has been a year since the Tokyo Olympics concluded. With them, there had been many memorable moments and bright new stars that come from them, as is usual with every Olympics. Gymnastics are always a fan favorite at the Summer Olympic games and the Tokyo Olympics showed no exception.

With the success that came from the stars that came from the United States' Women's Gymnastics Team, they have all continued their success in their collegiate careers. The following gymnasts from that team have continued their success at the collegiate level:

Sunisa Lee attends Auburn University is on their gymnastics team. Since winning big at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she has been continuing that success in her new chapter at Auburn.

Throughout her first NCAA season, Lee has racked up five perfect 10.0 scores. Three were on the balance beam while the other two were on uneven bars. She even became the first collegiate gymnast to perform a Nabeiva on the uneven bars. The Auburn Tigers gymnastics team made it all the way to the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. At the NCAA Championships, Auburn came in fourth overall while Suni Lee earned gold for the balance beam and earned silver on the individual all-around event behind Trinity Thomas.

Suni Lee has also been very active on social media as well, obtaining many sponsorships and brand deals. Recently, she just threw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game.

Grace McCallum

Grace McCallum attends the University of Utah and competes for their gymnastics team. Much like Sunisa Lee, she has also found continued success after the Tokyo Olympics.

During her freshman season for the University of Utah, McCallum has recorded two perfect 10.0s. Both of them were on uneven bars. McCallum has also helped the University of Utah find success as a team by winning the Pac-12 Championships.

Much like Lee, McCallum has also had her fair share of brand deals.

Much like her Team USA teammates, Jordan Chiles' success after the Tokyo Olympics has been nothing short of spectacular. Chiles was one of the gymnasts featured on Simone Biles' Gold Over America Tour. After completing this, she then joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team. During her freshman season, she earned three perfect 10.0s. Chiles has also had her fair share of brand deals just like teammates Sunisa Lee and Grace McCallum have.

Jade Carey has also had her fair share of collegiate success after the Tokyo Olympics. After the Olympics, she began attending Oregon State University. Due to the NCAA change on NIL player compensation, Carey became eligible to profit off of her name, image, and likeness. It was then reported that Carey was the highest-earning athlete at Oregon State.

During her freshman season at Oregon State, Carey won multiple honors. These honors included a handful of Pac-12 Freshman of the Week and PAc-12 Gymnast of the Week awards along with PAc-12 Gymnast of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Carey also competed at the NCAA Championships. Carey has also attained three perfect 10.0 scores. One of them was on uneven bars while the other two were on floor exercise.
